Seth was born into a mildly loving home until he entered middle school where verbal abuse would begin from both parents. Seth's father always forced Seth into sports, hunting, fishing, and other typical "masculine" activities but Seth would only enjoy the yearly hunting and fishing trips.After middle school finished, his father decided to enroll Seth in the same military academy that his father attended at his age; eventually he would later get expelled for violently attacking another student. The abuse he endured increased to physical violence for “humiliating” his father. The following school year he would enroll in public school to restart his freshmen year at 15.Due to the excessive abuse and the rapid deterioration of his mental health, Seth begins self harming at home and sometimes at school. Seth begins having a hallucination and carves numbers into his calf before attacking another student who is shocked at his behavior. Seth is nearly expelled if it wasn't for his father stepping in to convince his high school to give him a second chance, his father promising to get Seth “under control”. Students didn't typically treat Seth well before because of his behavior, some still trying to be friends despite how he acted while others bullied him but his classmates saw the assault, he’s now treated as a social pariah.

Michael buys the house for them all to live in and during his stay with Michael and Arthur does Skye begin to fall in love with his brother's boyfriend despite knowing it's wrong. Skye begins to learn how his brother Michael "has changed" and his crimes towards Arthur, so he decides to have them both leave Michael without suspicion. The two move far away from Michael in just Skye's van and have stayed together ever since.

Michael often took trips to California to see Skye and continue his networking coast to coast, introducing Arthur to Skye. Oblivious to the fact that the two had fallen in love, Michael continued to abuse Arthur.Michael lost the relationship he had with his brother Skye and Arthur when they ran away together to escape his terror. Shortly after, the DEA arrested Michael and he was sent to prison for 15 years.
